The Pearl of Africa is home to a vast diversity of animals, but one of its biggest draws are Mountain Gorillas. The first draw, as stated by NatGeo is Uganda's high population of these beasts, but the second draw, and perhaps more importantly, is these creatures can only be seen in the wild. Unlike many of the animals that are seen on safaris, mountain gorillas cannot be kept in a zoo. Their habitat is as important a tourist pull to Uganda as the preservation of it is to the animals themselves. As a result of this, Mountain Gorillas are a crucial aspect of the tourist industry for the country. Their appeal helps to alleviate the strain of misconceptions regarding the country, although this is hindered by external evaluations of the state via travel advisories (g35).

Traveling Uganda

A 23 minute travel documentary across Uganda with an end goal of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the last Mountain Gorillas. This video shows the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly of Uganda. To begin their trip, the group experienced the famous Kampala traffic firsthand, sitting for hours in a standstill within the city. It highlighted the beauty of the country through its nature and wildlife, as well as more than one car issue as the trekked cross-country.

Unlike some of the other videos showcasing the beauty of Uganda, this documentary showed not only the best of adventures, but also the struggles that the group went through as they traveled to Bwindi.
