Commentary: The top five teams in the polls, after the bowl season was completed, ended up in Reward's top 5 as well, agreeing exactly with who the top two teams were. Three teams were on probation, and so they did not appear in the ESPN polls, which makes it necessary to remove them from the AP poll, and adjust upwards for the teams below them. Therefore, Colorado State would then be "ranked" as #8 (after excluding Miami (F) and Florida), and their positions in the polls was an adjusted #14/#12 respectively. (It seems like the polls were a better match for their rating this year, and likewise with North Carolina State, which were the only two teams that that had reasonably large disagreements between the two "systems".) Oregon was 9-4, and ended up #11 in both polls, which seemed a little high: Rewards had them as #19, so perhaps their "true ranking" was somewhere in between.
