(The top 25 column is excluded here since the AP and UPI polls do not list any teams outside of the top 20.)
Commentary: Rewards gave the #1 spot to undefeated Arizona State, though Oklahoma was probably more deserving of that position since they defeated Nebraska 35-10 and ASU only beat them 17-14. Oklahoma's only blemish was to Kansas (7-5) 23-3, and the rest of their schedule was more challenging than the Sun Devil's, but in this case, Rewards determined that ASU had a better season than the Sooners because of zero losses, and the big win over the #9 Cornhuskers. Many teams in the top ten or fifteen likewise finished just one spot away in the Rewards ranking from where they finished in the polls, with only #15 Pittsburgh and #17 USC finishing a little over ten spots from their final poll positions.
