Oral Presentations

I. GENERAL RULES:
This is a team effort and you will be evaluated as part of a team.
You need to adhere to the time limit. You will be asked to stop if you go over the time limit.
Each team member must speak.
II. VISUALS (PowerPoint slide shows:
should be on a moveable storage device (flash drive/memory stick) (bring to class)
must have a cover page
must use bullet form, expressing major points/explanations in phrases (not sentences)
must be typed
should not exceed 6-8 lines per slide
should be based on at least 3 sources (Internet, library--books, databases)
must summarize and paraphrase the main ideas of the research information
must cite the sources on the last slide, titled "References"
III. NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION (incl. Appearance)
A presentation is considered a formal event. Appearance, posture and other means of non-verbal communication send a message to the audience. Therefore, please dress and act formally (slacks, jackets, shirts, skirts; absolutely no baseball caps). Presentation style and appearance are part of the evaluation criteria.

Please refer to the Presentation Rubric for criteria that will be included in your evaluation.
