I may volunteer for Practical Action. When I was researching the organization, I agreed with the approaches they used. Practical Action doesn't simply give technology to say they did it. They consider what needs to be fixed and improved in a society and move towards a better country. Because of its focus on important life related technologies, Practical Action has been able to greatly improve the lives of many individuals.

I think that their overall focuses are smart. Giving poor countries technoloies for no reason makes no sense to me. Instead, we should focus and giving the country the skill they really need. When they learn how to live a substainable life, then they will be able to move up in the world.
