Task (Collaborative/Interactive):
        Conducting a timed
        WebQuest about WebQuests
        To learn more about WebQuests--what
they are, what criteria to observe in creating a well-organized WebQuest,
and what pitfalls to observe, we will visit Bernie Dodge's

        A WebQuest about WebQuests.
You will need a group of  4 class members, each assuming a different
role--to complete the WebQuest.  Although team members may evaluate the
WebQuest individually based on the criteria for each role, you will have
to report your results as a team.  Please note that the WebQuest itself
is timed at 7 minutes. The teams are listed below.
        Suggested CMC tools:

        1.
        Use E-mail to reach
        each team member.

        2.
        Set up a time
for a synchronous (chat) meeting either in the Student Lounge
chatroom in this course or through a
        YahooMessenger Conference (click
Tools > Invite to Conference; then
click the person's name and Add).  In email, click the
Reply to all command when you respond so that each team
        member sees all the correspondence.
You can also send each other files to
review (click File > Upload) and you can record the chat (File > Save
        As).
        3.
        Use the whiteboard/filesharing/audioconferencing
        tools in Alado.net or LearningTimes.

        4.
Post your team results as an attachment
in the Sharing what you learned
Forum.  Please be sure to identify each team member's role and
contribution.  You may also use the folder in the filesharing area to
upload drafts of your final document for reviews by the team members.   |
