Borders is the largest bookstore which has almost half million books in downtown Burlington. It offers various books with affordable price. Besides books, it also sells music CDs, DVDs, gifts, and stationery. It intends people to enjoy books, music, movies and other entertainment items at the same time.

Borders has a café inside, "CAFÉ ESPRESSO". People enjoy their free time there reading books or newspapers and talking.

Borders has various events every week, such as book signings and story hours for children. Moreover, a small concert is held in CAFÉ ESPRESSO every weekend, and Borders promotes those events to the public.

Pier 1 Imports is America's largest importer of gifts and home furnishings. Pier 1 Imports started as a single store in San Mateo, California in 1962. Today, it is North America's leading specialty home fashions retailer with more than 900 stores worldwide.

It offers casual home furnishings at a good price. It sells many kinds of goods like candles, fragrances, and kitchenware.  Students and many other types of people shop there. The interior decorations, design, and atmosphere make this shop attractive, and the staff are very friendly.

Victoria's Secret is one of the most powerful, sexy brands in the world.  The company sells lingerie, sleepwear, swim suits, fragrances, and cosmetics. Although the main products of Victoria's Secret appeal to women, numerous men come and buy them for their girlfriends and wives. The products are high-quality, and the designs gorgeous and luxurious, but the products are not cheap. However, Victoria's Secret has a big sale twice a year, so customers can take advantage of low prices.         In our survey of Saint Michael's College students and faculty, " Banana Republic" was selected as the most interesting shop in downtown Burlington. This shop is loved by undergraduate and graduate students  because of its high-quality;  up-to-date, and  fashionable clothes and accessories which are well suited for the adult taste.
