ecosystems : a community of organisms together with their environment working together as a functioning unit.

environment :
this term refers to the natural world as perceived by humans, including plant and animal life, as well as the natural landscapes they inhabit.

niche : a specific portion of the environment where animals with specialized survival skills find it easiest to live.

predator :
an animal, or organism, that hunts and kills other animals or organisms for food.

extinct :
when no members of a particular species is alive.

transplanted : in this case, when an animal is taken from one location to another to increase the numbers of the species as well as the area it inhabits.

jeopardy: when the outcome of something becomes uncertain.

bounty system : under this system, rewards were given to people for hunting certain animals that the government wanted to control or eliminate.
