GET READY FOR GEOGRAPHY ACTION!
WITH VGA GA!
Coordinator Mary Cassarino
GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK:
November 11-17, 2007
The theme for Geography Action this year is
Asia.
This is the
focus of Geography Awareness Week but also part of the year long Geography
Action Initiative.

Mary Cassarino, an educator for 42 years, is available to schools to share
activities, lessons, and ideas to teach this theme, or to share general
activities which provide foundation skills for students in all grades and can be
integrated with other disciplines.
Mary has been an ardent and enthusiastic advocate for geography. She will light up your school and engage teaches and/or students in geography in hands-on, useful and relevant activities.
Mary has trained on several occasions at the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C. She is an active Teacher Consultant for the Vermont Geographic Alliance. Mary is coordinating the Geography Action theme in Vermont for this school year.
Mary is available to teach classes or to deliver workshops at faculty meetings or on in-service days. Activities or specific interests can be negotiated.
The cost to schools for these opportunities is $50 for one workshop and $250 for an all day event.
Costs include the provision of some materials. Costs are underwritten by a grant from the National Geographic Society Education Foundation.
