Articulation of Individual Standard M:8 Properties of Number Introduction: Standard M:8 refers to the properties of number such as odd/even, composition/decomposition, commutative, associative, identity, factor, multiple, remainder, prime, and composite. Kindergarten MK: 8 No MK: 8 at this grade level First Grade M1: 8 Applies properties of numbers (odd, even, composition/decomposition [5 is the same as 2 + 3]) and operations (commutative, identity) to solve problems and to simplify computations involving whole numbers. Second Grade M2: 8 Applies properties of numbers (odd, even) and operations (commutative, associative, identity) to solve problems and to simplify computations involving whole numbers. Third grade M3: 8 Applies properties of numbers (odd, even) and applies the commutative and associative properties of addition to solve problems and to simplify computations. Fourth Grade M4: 8 Applies properties of numbers (odd, even, factor, multiple, remainders, composition/decomposition) to solve problems and to simplify computations. Fifth grade M5: 8 Applies properties of numbers (odd, even, factor, multiple, prime, composite, divisibility, remainders, composition/decomposition) to solve problems and to simplify computations.
