Standard  M:15 Units of Measurement and System Conversion Skills

Introduction:

Standard M:15 focuses on the development of conceptual understanding of units of measurement and the skill of converting between
          different measurement systems.

Kindergarten

MK: 15   Identifies the appropriate standard tool used to measure length, temperature, and weight.

First Grade

M1: 15   Selects an appropriate tool with which to measure length, temperature, weight, and volume, and uses nonstandard units for  linear measurement and weight.

Second Grade

M2: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently, and makes conversions within systems when solving problems
across the content strands
. (Benchmarks in Appendix B.) M(G&M)–2–7

Third grade

M3: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently, and makes conversions within systems when solving problems across
the content strands. (Benchmarks in Appendix B.) M(G&M)–3–

Fourth Grade

M4: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently, and makes conversions within systems when solving problems across the
content strands. (Benchmarks in Appendix B.) M(G&M)–4–7

Fifth grade

M5: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently, and makes conversions within systems when solving problems across
the content strands. (Benchmarks in Appendix B.) M(G&M)–5–7

Sixth Grade

M6: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently, and makes conversions within systems when solving problems across
the content strands. (Benchmarks in Appendix B.) M(G&M)–6–7

 Seventh Grade

M7: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently when solving problems across the content strands. Makes
conversions within systems. (See Appendix B for benchmark units and equivalences for each grade.)

 Eighth Grade

M8: 15 Measures and uses units of measures appropriately and consistently when solving problems across the content strands. Makes conversions
           within or across systems.
(See Appendix B for benchmark units and equivalences for each grade.)
