Welcome to the abstract-submissions page for The Symposium, to be held on April 20, 2012.

One of the purposes of The Symposium is to bring together students from the many different disciplines in order to celebrate the pursuit and accumulation of knowledge. The Undergraduate Research Council is sponsoring this event in the hopes of bridging the gaps that separate different disciplines and to provide a venue for the students at Saint Michael's to demonstrate the results of their research.

Poster submissions will be accepted until April 13th, 2012.
If you submit an abstract, you will be responsible for presenting a poster (roughly 36" x 48") at The Symposium on Friday April 20th between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm.

All of the authors need not be present during the entire two-hour period, but someone must be there to talk about the research. If you have a multimedia presentation, please be prepared to present that material on your own personal laptop computer; projection equipment is not available. Please keep in mind that the posters will be presented in Ross and it may be difficult for your audience to hear audio from a laptop. Poster-boards will be available for you to attach your presentation, but it may be more convenient for you to come with your own poster-board to make it easier to set up and take down your presentation. If other accommodations are necessary, please contact Dr. Ari Kirshenbaum, the URC co-chairperson (akirshenbaum@smcvt.edu).

You will be asked to set up your poster for the presentation the night before the symposium, on Thursday April 19th, between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00p .
