Communications was not performing; so, 5 weeks before the end of the semester I am sending the following message to the Communications and Staffing groups. I have no idea what may happen.
--Bob Cunningham
Effective communications are necessary to the success of XB. A number of groups have been dissatisfied with the performance of the communications group. Information requested by various groups has been not forthcoming. Diad has investigated the issue and has talked to members of Communications, and Diad reports no success in resolving outstanding issues.
Diad's report is below.
"First, there was the issue of the Informal Group and the Communications Group joining together in observing and reporting. Second, their group dynamic is very strange. There is no clear leadership in the group. One person is the leader during class, one on Sundays, one in presentation, and one with regard to the web page. They seem to get along; however, they are not (with exception of one) very excited or concerned about XB--by their own admission. They feel that putting themselves out there, so to speak, would make them look like "over achievers" and they are afraid of that. However, they all agree that putting a tangible aspect onto Communications would be helpful...this is why we think the appendix will GREATLY benefit the organization. When asked by various groups to send an updated class list, they have never responded."
I am hereby directing Staffing to address this matter immediately, and to bring me a recommendation ASAP. (Staffing will be allowed to turn in their Test 5 days late, if necessary.)
Among possible options Staffing may wish to consider are reassigning some or all Communications members to other groups and recruiting new members to perform the staffing function.
