Instructions for the Planning Group (SMC,Spring, 2003)

Cycle 1

1)     Go to the website and do the exercises on BS & SMART goals and

2)     Your primary job is to teach individual members how to write BS & SMART goals and make sure they do so in their weekly memos

3)     Construct a graph showing the percentage of goals properly stated each week, post the graph on the classroom wall, and update it each week

4)     Make sure that each group has a written plan for its presentation, even if just taken from the web.

Cycle 2:

1)     Make sure that each group reads Strategic Planning and writes a strategic plan for teaching and controlling the learning of its subject under the assumption that there will be no presentation.

2)     Rank-order the plans and report the ranks to Control

3)     E-mail the plans in one file to the Senior Manager
