KEN (40s – 50s) A well-to-do lawyer. Wealthy, but by no means pretentious. Takes charge of the situation. Married to Chris. Halfway through the show, a gunshot causes his temporary deafness.

CHRIS (40s – 50s) Another lawyer, married to Ken. Beautiful, easily flustered. Frantically tries to maintain normalcy at the party. Has recently quit smoking, which drives her to drink a bit more.

LEN (40s – 50s) A wealthy accountant, married to Claire. Distraught over the recent destruction over his new car. Starts the show with an extreme case of whiplash. Intolerant of the gossipy-lifestyle that he is often involved in.

CLAIRE (40s – 50s) Len’s wife. Very concerned with appearances (hers and others’). Starts the play with a swollen lip. Likes to gossip.

ERNIE (40s – 50s) A psychiatrist, married to Cookie. Affable, smokes a pipe. Loves his wife very much. Tries to be as helpful as possible cooking the evening’s dinner.

SHOUT

1st Reh: 7/18. Runs: 7/31 – 7/10/13

BLUE GIRL – A blue-blooded fashion model with a high soprano belt – low b flat to high C.  Blue is sophisticated, poised, cool and aloof.

GREEN GIRL – Mezzo with Shirley Bassey-like belt.  She is a good-time girl.  Blousy, middle-class, and zany, she is a bit frayed at the edges, and hopelessly single.

ORANGE GIRL – Soprano with belt – low B flat to high B flat.  The mother of the group, Orange is domestic and maternal. Wise, soulful, and mature, she is slowly asserting her new-found independence.

RED GIRL – Soprano with belt – low B flat to high C.  The baby of the group, Red is quirky, enthusiastic and naïve.  A hopeless romantic.

YELLOW GIRL – Alto with big rock diva belt – F below mid C to belt E flat.  Yellow is an uninhibited and brash.  She is a ray of sunshine with a surprising vulnerability.

For the Musical EPAs and ECC, please prepare a brief Broadway or pop song that shows range and personality and is within the style of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF or SHOUT. Men at the 3:30pm ECC should be prepared to dance. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. For Dramatic Day, please prepare a brief CONTEMPORARY COMIC monologue.

As a Resident Stock Theatre we look to hire a company of actors to appear in as many consecutive productions as possible. Musicals and Non-musicals may share many of the same actors. Actors with disabilities as well as actors of any race, age or ethnicity are encouraged to audition.
