Michael's Playhouse
Located minutes from
Burlington, Vermont and beautiful Lake Champlain, Saint Michael's
Playhouse is Northern Vermont's Actors’ Equity resident stock theater
company. From its first season in 1947, performing in an old wooden farm
building, this professional theater has blossomed into a high quality
equity theater company presenting full-scale critically acclaimed works in
a vibrant up to date theater complex.

Saint Michael's Playhouse has approval from Actors’ Equity
Association to cast several Non-Equity performers as ensemble
members in BARNUM. This high-flying Tony Award
winning Broadway musical, based on the amazing life of Phineas
Taylor Barnum, will be the opening production of the Saint Michael’s
Playhouse 2008 season.
Director/choreographer Keith Andrews and circus/aerial trainer Bobby
Heglin-Taylor will be traveling from New York City to Vermont to
audition local performers for this production. Musical Director Tom
Cleary will also be present. Auditions will be held at the theater
on Sunday, April 6 beginning at 1pm.
Seeking male and female performers, all ethnicities, very strong
singers and dancers with gymnastics and/or circus skills. We will
also be looking for non-union actors to perform in our Children's
Theater productions.
Auditions will begin at 1pm. Sign in sheet will be
posted at noon on day of audition in lobby of theater. Please arrive
early to sign-in and warm up.
Prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo Broadway standard. Bring book.
Everyone will sing first. Bring movement attire in case you are
asked to come back for a movement call later that day. You must
bring with you a headshot and resume.
Rehearsals begin June 2; runs June 17 - 28. You must be available
for entire production period.

BARNUM as ensemble members. We
will be auditioning
men and women for roles in BARNUM.
We will be looking for
strong actors who sing, dance, and possess circus performance abilities.
We will also be looking for actors to perform in our Children's Theater
productions.
You
must bring with you a headshot and resume. All
those auditioning will be taught a vocal number from the show and a dance combination.
All must be prepared to perform some type of circus skill.
You must also be prepared to present 16 bars of a song of your choosing.
