Posting of April 10 shows the inconsistency in some claims by some of these
scholars.. Posting of April 11 summarizes the Gospel account of what happened to
Judas. This blog has other material with it. Just scroll to what pertains to the
Gospel of Judas.
Ben Witherington III is an evangelical, prolific, and first rate scholar. He
takes a forceful position against those who make excessive claims for this
Gospel of Judas and for other apocryphal gospels. He says the baloney meter is
high on this one. Questions, objections, and other claims follow his
presentation to which he responds. .

Bruce Chilton is a well known NT scholar. He calls attention to the
sensationalism and the omissions associated with this
project. Why did National Geographic not call upon some experts in this field
such as James Robinson? He points out the questionable and un-scholarly aspects
to this project.

Mark Roberts. The document may give us knowledge about Gnosticism but none about
Jesus and the NT. And, it is not accidental that the release is scheduled in
coordination with Holy Week and also the release of the film on the Da Vinci
Code.
