"Paris: Past & Present"
February 23-March 4, 2001
The tour was again led by Prof. Andrew Simon, Department of Modern Languages.
"Politics and Society in Germany Since 1945"
August 6-24, 2000HI 299 was a 3-credit study tour to Germany: Frankfurt am Main, Bonn, the Rhine Valley, Cologne and Berlin. Students explored German politics, immigration, homelessness, the environment, and other contemporary issues through lectures and discussions with German students.

"China Today: People, Culture and Business"
May 16-31, 2000Explored contemporary China: Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'an, and Beijing. Four pre-departure meetings provided background in history, language, business and culture.
The tour was led by Xiaoqing Xu (adjunct, Modern Languages Dept)
and Kelly Cullins (Director, Study-Abroad).

February 25-March 5, 2000FR 277 is a 1-credit international study tour which took place in Paris during SMC's Winter Recess. Stay turned for photos and stories!

"Spanish in Venezuela"
May 14 June 11, 1999SMC students spent four wonderful weeks in beautiful Venezuela, earning five SMC SP 210 language credits. They studied at a Venezuelan university two hours west of Caracas,lived with local families,while taking Spanish classes four days a week. Visits to community service agencies, evening socials and weekend trips were also part of the experience!
The tour was led by Prof. John Carvellas, Department of Economics.
"Germany After the
Wall"
9-27 August 1998
Eleven students from both St. Michael's College and the University of Vermont took part in this 20-day travel seminar which was offered in conjunction with the Hedwig-Dransfeld Haus and Universität Chemnitz. Students travelled from Berlin to the Rhineland, focusing their activities on the political and social scene in contemporary Germany.
The tour was led by Prof. Frank Nicosia, Department of History.
