Academic Study Tour of Mexico
27 December 1997 - 6 January 1998

To give just a couple instances of what our group did, we visited Texolo, a small town near Xalapa. The group walked through the town on a guided tour given by a community member. We saw the reality of everyday life in the area. The nearby Texolo Falls gave the group an opportunity to see a natural rainforest! The birds and flowers were spectacular. We also got to see coffee plantations; coffee growing is the area's main industry.

The tour was led by Prof. Joseph Kroger, Department of Religious Studies,
and
Prof. Marta Umanzor, Department of Modern Languages.
