Second Language Proficiency

  Language Learning Assistance

We will be offering you lots of help along the way to proficiency.  Some options are:

  • The Language Learning Resource Center, or LLRC (Saint Edmunds Hall 215)- Many resources are available in this center including language learning software, individualized use of audio and video tapes, and SCOLA, an international news satellite broadcast.  The LLRC provides a variety of independent study materials such as books, software, audio exercises, and DVDs for students to improve their second language skills. To visit the Language Learning Resource Center Home Page  http://www2.smcvt.edu/llrc.
  • International Tutors - Available on a case-by-case basis.
  • Advanced Language Student Tutors - Available on a case-by-case basis.
  • Individualized Help from Instructors - Saint Michael's language faculty are always on hand to help.
  • Study Abroad - You can choose to do all or part of your language study in another country and, upon your return from abroad, we will assess your language proficiency.  Click on the following address to visit the Study Abroad Home Page: http://www.smcvt.edu/study_abroad

Reasonable accommodations will be made on a case by case basis for students with documented learning disabilities. Please contact Dr. Anne McConnnell at amcconnell@smcvt.edu if you have specific questions.
