Second Language Requirement

  Language Learning Assistance

We will be offering you lots of help along the way to proficiency.  Some options are:

  • Individualized Help from Instructors - Saint Michael's language faculty are always on hand to help.
  • Advanced Language Student Tutors - Available on a case-by-case basis.

  • The Language Learning Resource Center, or LLRC (Saint Edmunds Hall 215)- Many resources are available in this center including language learning software (such as Rosetta Stone), individualized use of audio and video tapes, MP3 players and Kindles.  The LLRC provides a variety of independent study materials such as books, software, audio exercises, and foreign language DVDs for students to improve their second language skills. To visit the Language Learning Resource Center Home Page:  http://www2.smcvt.edu/llrc.
  • International Tutors - Available on a case-by-case basis.
  • Study Abroad - You can choose to do all or part of your language study in another country and, upon your return from abroad, we will assess your language proficiency.  Click on the following address to visit the Study Abroad Home Page: http://www.smcvt.edu/study_abroad

Reasonable accommodations will be made on a case by case basis for students with documented learning differences. Please contact Toni Messuri at amessuri@smcvt.edu if you have specific questions.
