Applied and clinical psychology

For many people today, psychology is primarily an applied, or even clinical field. However, that was not the intention of its founders, and in fact was antithetical to some. Functional psychology laid the groundwork for psychology's application to "everyday" life and the eventual development of clinical and counseling psychologyas well as other applied fields.
