___ Title Page (title centered, name underneath, date underneath)

___  In the upper right-hand corner of each page is a header consisting of the first two or three words of your title, followed by the page number.  This begins on the title page.  (This can be inserted automatically with WORD)

___  The paper is stapled (no clips, no folders, not loose)

___  The paper is double-spaced, throughout including the references.

___  There are margins of about 1 inch around the paper.

___  There is no bold print or change of font in any section of the paper

___  "its"and "it’s" are used correctly

___   Personal pronouns are used correctly (a person followed by "that" instead of "who") ("people who x, y, z")

___ Sub-headings conform to APA style (See the manual)

____ The first time an article with more than two authors is cited all the authors’ last names are ncluded all (after that, et al. can be used, e.g., Lamb, et al., 1996)

____ A title of work never appears in the text of the paper.

____ An author’s first name never appears in the text

____ When referencing a work with two or more authors, "and" is used in the text (e.g., "Brown and Finkelhor (1986) completed a literature review on the topic.), but "&" is used in parentheses (e.g., "A literature review on the topic (Brown & Finkelhor, 1986) revealed"...).

___ " et al." is puntucated properly (Abiden et al., 1993).

___  Final periods come outside of parentheses at the end of sentences.

___  Spelling has been checked.

___  References follow APA format (indenting first line, author, date, title of article or chapter, title of journal or book, volume, page numbers, with proper underlinings).

___  References in text match references at end of paper.

___  ALL references included in the reference list.

____ References are double-spaced with no extra space between them.

____ The writing is clearly my own although the ideas may be somebody else’s.

____ The source of all information and ideas that are not common knowlege was clearly identified.
