Course objectives:

  • To help you become information and technology literate, including how to critically analyze and evaluate educational software
  • To become familiar with some of the major information resources in education research and teaching
  • To explore ways future teachers can incorporate technology into their curriculums by using FrontPage, Publisher, and PowerPoint

Class policies

  • Attendance is mandatory and assignments will be based on material covered in class. Missing more than one class will have a negative impact on your final grade
  • Assignments given in class are due the next class unless otherwise specified. Late assignments will be marked down a full grade for every day they are overdue. You may need to start assignments in advance to avoid the possibilities of computer problems
  • The SMC academic integrity policy applies and is supported
  • The syllabus may change at the discretion of the instructor
  • Learning differences may be accommodated if I am notified and a satisfactory plan is agreed on

Grading

  • Grading is based on the quality of your assignments, on your attendance, and participation in class. There is no final exam.
