Table Legend

Rewards standings before the tournament games and after them.

Commentary: The top 6 teams in both polls ended up in Rewards' top 6 as well, with only the #1 and #2 teams being reversed! Kansas was #42 before the NCAA tournament began, and their even garnering 6 wins was not enough to overcome their 11 losses, and they ended up as the #25 team, with respect to Rewards, and its evaluation of the Jayhawks' "entire season". NIT champion Connecticut moved up from #91 to #72, and #14 seed Murray State also moved up 20 spots (from #79 to #59) with their win over the #3 seeded Wolfpack of NC State. Richmond was unranked in both polls, but earned a #13 seed, and they then defeated #4 seeded Indiana, and #5 seed Georgia Tech, to make the sweet sixteen. Rewards thought more highly of the Spiders than the voters, and it had them as the #28 team before the NCAA tournament, and elevated them to #20 after their two post season victories. #11 seeded Rhode Island also made the sweet sixteen (after beating #6 seed Missouri, and #3 seed Syracuse) and climbed from #41 to #22.
