Commentary: Defending BCS champion Alabama repeated as #1, and the Crimson Tide was also recognized by Rewards as the team with the most meritorious season in 2012. Rewards flip-flopped #2 Oregon and #3 Notre Dame, and the Gators of Florida almost departed the top 10 with their loss to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl, but Rewards still ranked them as #6. (Rewards also ranked had #4 Georgia as its #7 team.) Rewards matched the top 10 fairly well, with only four teams farther away than one position from where they were voted; in the top 25, Rewards placed three teams in the same spot, with eight more teams only plus or minus one position in the final polls.
