Commentary: The Rewards ranking system matched the polls very well in 1992. The averages listed in the table above were third lowest for the top 10, 15, and 20 categories. Rewards also had the same top nine teams as the polls, with a few in slightly different positions; Rewards agreed exactly with the selections for who should be #1, #4 and #9. Only two teams in the ranking produced by Rewards were very different from the polls, with 9-4 Florida finishing as #10/#11 in the polls, but Rewards ranked them as #15 (primarily due to their four losses), and Colorado was #13 in the polls, but Rewards ranked this 9-2-1 team as #17, and probably deservedly so, since their best win was only against 8-4 Kansas.
