Our
mission is to provide students with the best possible educational
experience by combining rigorous intellectual inquiry with hands-on
professional training. Our approach is highly interdisciplinary--drawing
from history, psychology, sociology, philosophy, and cultural
studies to create and evaluate media texts and to inquire into
the cultural implications of new media technologies. The media
we create and critique include web sites, magazines, newspapers
(on-line and print), graphic designs, advertising, television,
radio, and photography (digital and traditional).
Our
curriculum is designed to instill in students the knowledge, curiosity,
and firm ethical grounding they will need to succeed in a constantly
changing and international communications environment. Our faculty
is committed to helping students develop professional skills,
a critical perspective, and a sense of community. |
