Applied Lab I, Calc III

Assignment:

Find the volume (in cubic centimeters!!) of

A.  the wooden bead OR the inside of the cup (be careful--the bottom isn't flat!) AND

B. the funnel (inside) OR the bowling pin

You must check your work for part A by using at least two techniques to find your answers.  One technique must involve the tools of calculus.  Computations must be done on Maple, and the Maple code must be carefully documented (i.e. explain in words what you are doing in each step).

You may find it helpful to use the CurveFitting tool in Maple for part B.

If you use formulas, you must reference the source (even if it is our own book).  Remember there is a lot of junk on the web, so be careful.

Units are important.
