Read each section before it is covered in class and note definitions, theorems, vocabulary and formulas. Review in-class demonstrations and experiment with any interactive tools.
You are responsible for having done the homework problems after each section had been discussed in class and before the next class period. It is very important that each exercise is done correctly ! Incorrect exercises don't help anyone very much. You can look in the back of the book, in the solution manual (on reserve at the library), you can compare answers with others in your study group or class, you can ask at the help session, you can come to my office hours---you should ultimately be able to solve every problem perfectly. Be careful to do each type of problem until you can do it without help or looking anything up in the book since you will not be able to use the book on the quizzes.
NOTE: Some of the problems have a little graph icon next to them in the text--this means that you must use Maple to do the problem. Full credit will NOT be given for homeworks without the Maple component.
