Jeff Ayres, Professor of Political Science, received an expense defrayment grant for a research visit to Ottawa, Canada. During the visit Professor Ayres spent time in the research libraries of Carleton University and the National Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.  In addition, he spent time in discussions with foreign policy experts at the University.  Flowing from this visit was a paper delivered at the Council of the Americas Conference held in Savannah, Georgia.  A manuscript based on the paper will be submitted to the British Journal of Canadian Studies.
