Photoshop/FrontPage Project

1. Find a color picture on the Internet or scan a picture of your own and save it to your disk.

2. Go to “Save AS” and save the document as a JPEG (jpg) or Gif (gif). Use the following naming sequence: 8 or fewer characters, followed by a period, followed by jpg or gif.

Example: myphoto.jpg

3. Using “Save As” or by making a duplicate on the Desktop, copy the picture using a different name and apply three changes using Photoshop. Write a short paragraph describing your changes. In “Save As,” save document under a different name to your disk as a jpeg or gif. Note that you must flatten any layers before saving to a JPEG or GIF.

4. Repeat #3 building on the changes already made. Write a short paragraph describing your changes. Save document under a different name to your disk as a JPEG or GIF.

6. Repeat #4 building on the changes already made. Write a short paragraph describing your changes. Save document under a different name to your disk as a JPEG or GIF.

7. Repeat #5 building on the changes already made. Write a short paragraph describing your changes. Save document under a different name to your disk as a JPEG or GIF.

You will be graded on your willingness to produce impressive work; higher grades will go to folks who display a thorough knowledge of Photoshop.

You will then “import” your photos to your FrontPage Explorer account so that I and others can see your work. This will be done in class, so don't panic!

Please have your pages logically displayed, with internal links, bookmarks, and one external link.

For your Photoshop/FrontPage projects, please make sure that

  1. your photos are not too big; keep them less than 100K (1000K = 1MG)
  2. your photos are placed on pages
  3. your pages are linked logically, allowing your reader to start at the beginning and move through your project
  4. your project is free of errors and typos

You must let viewers know where the picture(s) come from. Link the pictures themselves to their original source.
