QuarkXPress Project

By using any images you can scan or find on the Internet, create a cereal box in QuarkXPress. Create at least three sides of the box, with the fourth side being a description of your project.

Requirements:

1. The cereal box may have any theme you want, only you should try to reach for an actual market (No Unabomber Flakes, please... although even that might reach a wider audience than say, journalism history flakes!). Discuss your perceived audience in the fourth side's description.

2. The box cover should incorporate images imported from Photoshop using a 3D effect (not just text over pictures). I offer my use of text on my Jhistory page as an example. The pictures should be different from the ones you've already used this semester. Do not worry about copyrights for this job, but do cite the sites on the fourth side. Reebok cereal is okay, even with the use of their logo. Colors should be manipulated in Photoshop through the image-adjust-variations function with CMYK colors.

3. The job must be done in QuarkXPress, not Photoshop or something else.

4. Your work should be publishable: no typos! Also the text and pictures should exist cleanly together. Be aware of text flow, and of the “runaround” of the pictures.

5. The test will be graded on the above and on the wide but clean use of Photoshop and QuarkXPress functions.
