I'm a community
ecologist working for the most part on invertebrates in aquatic
systems. My research program includes projects on disturbance,
community assembly, facilitation, invasive species, and land-use impacts.
When ever possible I include student
collaborators on my projects.
My research heavily
overlaps with my teaching interests and each feeds the other.
Currently, my primary project is the Vermont Streams Project. The
project is a unique combination of primary research, undergraduate
training, and high school outreach.
I serve as one of
Vermont EPSCoR's Streams Project Science
Advisors. My role includes training the macroinvertebrate team,
contributing to the high school training, and supporting the high school
teams through the school year.
