Ready, Set, Ginkgo!

Did you know that the Gingko tree is the oldest tree in the world?

Activity:

In this activity, you will investigate the different parts that make up the Ginkgo tree and discover the various colors and shapes that make the Ginkgo a beautiful and unique tree.

Materials Needed:

* Plain Paper
* Pencil
* Crayons or Markers

Procedure:

1. Have an adult help you fold the paper into four sections: once down the middle and again in half. You should have four equal sections.

2. In each section, follow these instructions:

Using a pencil, in this box draw all the different shapes that make up the tree. For example, the shapes of the leaves, branches, etc.

Using your crayons, fill this entire box with all the different colors you see in the tree.

In this box, write as many words or sentences as you can that describe the tree.

In this box, combine the shapes, colors, and words about the tree to create a beautiful drawing of or story about the tree!
