Préparation pour la classe du 5 juin

Quel temps est-ce qu'il va faire cette semaine?

(Les prévisions de la météo)

We're going to visit a "search engine" which will find the weather predictions for most cities in the world for us -- in French. In the "météo" category, you have the option, at different stages, of typing in a city name and having the search engine find it for you, or following links to the part of the world and the city you're interested in.

You're going to a search engine called Yahoo -- France. Here's what you can do once you get there:

  1. On the page you see, there is a blank labeled Recherche (Search). Underneath it, you'll find a line listing links to some special services. Click on Météo.
  2. Now you'll see that there's a blank labeled Recherche par ville. You may either type in a city name, if you have one in mind, and click on Recherche, or you may click on one of the continents or world regions listed.
  3. If you choose a continent or area, the new screen will show a blank for searching, and below it a list of countries, departments, territories, etc. If you click on one of those, the new screen will present a search blank and below it the cities available. You may then click on that city to see the weather predictions for it for the next three days.

For class tomorrow, be prepared to discuss:

  1. The weather predictions for a city in your native country (or nearby, if they're not available).
  2. The weather predictions for a city in a francophone country, territory, etc.
