CAN-8, a program which provides instructors with the tools for creating and scoring oral exercises and tests (for speaking, listening and listening comprehension), is currently in its first year of use at St. Michael's College.

Thus far, instructors and their students in ESL, French, Japanese and Spanish have made extensive use of CAN-8, especially for oral proficiency testing.  This semester, more are also turning to the software for use in practice of pronunciation, structures, etc.

We hope that this web site will provide tools not only to instructors and staff who are already familiar with CAN-8, but to novices as well.

Please keep in touch, so that this site may become as useful as possible to you.
