  Iconology - Head as Authority

Odolomare Head over Man - Man Head over nature

The diminutive animal and the dwarfish legs of the horseman are typical of Yoruba equestrian figures.  Our attention is drawn to the head and the quietly confident face.  We feel and know the strength, the authority of the rider.  Just as Olodomare is the Head over man, it is man who possesses the skill to master nature for his own ends.5
