On January 29, 2010,  Dr. Mary Schleppegrell joined the CREATE PLC for a day of consultation related to Systemic Functional Linguistics. The morning was spent with ALD and ED faculty, discussing the link between content and language and the strategies of SFL.

During the afternoon, teachers from CREATE's three partner school districts joined SMC faculty and over 40 participants enjoyed a presentation on  using Systemic Functional Linguistics in content classrooms.
